Artikaas Truffle Gouda
Artikaas Truffle Gouda is a mild, smooth & creamy cow’s milk gouda sprinkled with Italian black truffles. Truffles are a highly-sought fungi known for their earthy flavor. This earthy, woodsy flavor is similar to mushroom; many think truffles are mushrooms, but they actually are a different species. Grown underground near the roots of certain trees, specially trained dogs are used to sniff out & dig up the truffles used for this cheese. The mild, grassy flavors of the gouda combined with the earthy truffles makes for a delicious combination! Great for snacking and on a cheese board, we recommend enjoying with a good bread and a bold red wine. If you’re feeling bold, it is also good for melting and would make a great truffle mac & cheese!
